Helping kids connect with God through songs

By teaching the children worship songs, BCYM hopes to help them connect with God in a way that is fun and engaging. For many kids, this is their favorite part of the day’s activities and they often show up to camp singing the songs that they have learned.

Songs transcend language barriers

Our foreign volunteers have the privilege of assisting in leading worship songs by teaching the kids the English versions of the same worship songs that they are singing in Arabic. The kids love to see the foreign volunteers come up front and sing these songs with them in a way that transcends language barriers.

Familiar Songs

Some of the songs we teach the children are unique to the Arabic language, but some of them are translations of songs that you already know. Check out the list below to see which songs you’ve already heard in your own language.

My God Is So Big

My God is so big, so strong and so mighty
There’s nothing my God cannot do
My God is so big, so strong and so mighty
There’s nothing my God cannot do

I’ve Got The Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy

I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart (where?)
Down in my heart (where?)
Down in my heart
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart (where?)
Down in my heart to stay

Father Abraham

Father Abraham had many sons
Many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them and so are you
So let’s all praise the Lord.
Right arm!

This Little Light of Mine

This Little Light Of Mine,
I’m gonna let it shine,
This Little Light Of Mine,
I’m gonna let it shine,
This Little Light Of Mine,
Yes, I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
